In tears, Rita finally finds the courage to admit to Marlene the mistake she had done a long time ago. After hearing of the said confession, and the truth that the real David John is indeed alive, Marlene, too, breaks down in tears. As Rita expected, Marlene is greatly displeased by the said revelation. In order to make up for her previous mistake, and to gain her daughter’s trust once more, Rita tries to consult Manuel regarding the whereabouts of her real grandson in exchange of 1 million pesos. Manuel immediately tells Elizabeth of the deal Rita is giving him. With no questions asked, she raised the bargain to 2 million pesos in exchange of Manuel’s loyalty. She asked him to tell Rita that her real grandson is already dead.
